June Mingle Gifts

June Gifts:
Angeal – A yellow ceramic bell flower display
Genesis – A red ceramic bell flower display
Jean – A orange ceramic bell flower display
Sigma – A purple ceramic bell flower display
Waver – A gray ceramic bell flower display
Yashiki – A rabbit figure

Guests who have been around the longest have received an intricately designed and sculpted ceramic floral display. The flowers are all a bell shaped bloom in the above colours mentioned, and a stone inside it glows in the evening with a faint, soft light. They are very pretty!

But... Well, they aren’t just pretty displays, it would seem. They also occasionally emit a soft ringing sound like a small bell. Leading up to July 1st (the event start date), they seem to do so with increasing frequency, and uh... there doesn’t seem to be an off switch.

Sorry about that.

Took a wrong turn somewhere along the way

Everything seems normal enough around the manor as July begins, guests are left to their own devices and to investigate or go about their daily lives however they wish. There is so much of the manor left to explore after all, and so many rooms that Theo has admitted she can't recall the whereabouts of that might be nice to have access to again.

So if guests prefer wandering the cooler halls of the manor over the growing heat outside then who would blame them?

Unfortunately...

Peace never lasts...

Through the day, guests will either notice someone has disappeared or they will find themselves in an unfamiliar corridor from where they once were. Yes, the manor is vast and a bit confusing to get around, but surely everyone knows their way around well enough by now, right?

Trying to retrace their steps will find them even more lost than before, with many confusing twists and turns before them.

Something is very wrong...

Everyone aside from Theo has found themself pulled directly into the manor's security feature (presumably) without any reason to have been drawn there in the first place.

Welcome to the Labyrinth.

General info:

How this has happened is anyone's guess, but guests will have to find their own way out it seems as Theodora cannot access this particular place herself. It's not her domain, and she does not have the ability to cross over at will even if it's tied to the manor.

Guests who wander will soon find that the cold spots and whispers of the Manor’s proper halls are present here as well, but they are... less helpful, to put it lightly. Those who assume that they will find guidance will be sorely mistaken, as they are drawn along endlessly if they follow the breezes and sounds of the spirits that reside here.

Guests who follow for too long will start to feel an ever persistent chill or grow progressively more light headed and disorientated. All while going in circles and passing locked doors that wont open or decor they've seen before.

If guests choose to ignore and avoid the spirits (which is definitely the smart option) and try to find their own way around, they may find some form of progress made... But progress isn't without it's challenges.

Guests who happen to come across large arched door left slightly ajar may choose to enter it and venture forth closer to escape, but the door will slam shut behind them and the room itself will shift to something familiar... Not the manor they were seeking to return to, but a landscape from their own memory that stretches out before them and must be navigated to find the exit.

Guests must not linger even if it's a pleasant location, else they risk getting trapped until the end of the month when the Labyrinth resets.

There is hope, though, and aid waiting in this room that takes the shape of something gifted to guests since their arrival. Guests will find that a creature of some sort that looks exactly like the animal figurines that sit on their bedside tables are waiting for them. They don't let you get too close, because now is not the time for it. No, they let you get closer but then dart/fly/float off in a particular direction in hopes of leading you to the safety of the exit.

Once guests go through the proper exit, they will find themselves outside the manor. There is no door behind them, and no way to go back. Not that they'd want to, of course.

Side notes:

Starting off with an important note: If you don't want to take part you don't have to. Guests who are outside when the disappearances begin will remain safe, but Theo will then insist they camp outside until things get back to normal. She would have sent them to the farmhouse if it were unlocked, pity no one has found that key yet.

If you decide you only want to interact with a particular portion of the event that is also fine.

SO as stated both here and on the info page for them: The labyrinth ghosts are not the same as the helpful manor ghosts. These ghosts are not your friends, they are not open to negotiations. They will feed off negative emotions as they try to keep everyone lost, and the longer they feed the more characters will feel a persistent chill and a severe disorientation which wont help with the being lost thing.

Also, Lord Foxglove is also more likely to be seen than usual here. He has a more solid appearance and though he is still very standoffish, he will keep an eye on the guests and ghosts alike. It's almost like he's studying everyone, and guests will almost feel like they're being judged or their value weighed in some way.

On the subject of the memory landscape rooms: These can be any place from your character’s mind. A place they’d like to revisit, or wish they’d never see again. Could be something like (but not limited to) a building, an open field, a ship, etc. There can absolutely be monsters/entities present from that location, or faceless crowds, but specific people who might have been there won’t be unless they’re in game and happen to enter the room with you. It can be a good place, a bad place, an ‘eh 5 out of 10 stars’ kinda place.

Have fun with it, but make sure you add/update CWs accordingly if your threads include heavy subject matter/things that require a warning.

On the subject of getting out of the memory landscape rooms: Told y'all that the animal figurines would come into play in a different way than before >>... It seems that they've been given a life of their own, the only telltale sign that they're not an ordinary animal being the honey-gold feature (think eyes or an inner glow in the pattern of their fur/feathers/scales etc) to their design that they have that shine even in shadowed areas, and the heightened level of intelligence displayed as they lead characters through the memory landscape and away from trouble.

At the end of the month, guests may be delighted (or annoyed depending on their temperament) to find that these animals actually remain. Everyone now has their own special familiar pet to keep them company and offer assistance in times of need. Sometimes they do return to their original form, either to recharge after a particularly taxing day or when it seems best to be a small, unassuming figurine. Regardless of whichever form they take, the protection they provide a character's mind with from bad dreams and negative influences is present.

They are also receptive to and/or capable of carrying various forms of magic items depending on the character's own capabilities/tools of choice (Thing something like a collar that holds a magic jewel or harness that can hold items like that). They may also develop other unique abilities and traits over time.

If you want to ask for clarification or if something is possible, please don't hesitate to ask in the questions thread below!

Current list of characters animal figurines:
Angeal – A dog figure
Genesis – A falcon figure
Jean – A songbird figure
Sigma – A jellyfish figure
Waver – A ferret figure
Yashiki – A rabbit figure

Please note that if you would like to say your character had a different kind of creature as a figure, this is your last chance to request a different one. Only rule is nothing mythical/magical and I need you to comment below so I can update my list. You are also allowed to describe the animal’s appearance however you like in your threads; they were designed with your character in mind so have fun.

Please feel free to use this post as a place to plot out ideas if you want to organize/chat about ideas.
